Canoe Trip in Jutland

by sander17. July 2010 04:53

The last three days I went with my friends on a trip to Jutland, which is the western region of Denmark and a peninsula to Germany, on a canoeing trip. Except one person, all of them were my previous classmates and except for another person, all of them are my movie-making-buddies. So these are the people who have made Captain Galactica and Searider Falcon, mostly.

The first day, we spent driving there and setting up camp. Suddenly a thunderstorm from France struck us. (Stupid French.) So we were stuck for a while inside the bigger of the tents. Well, until the rain started coming in and we had to undress and go outside to repair it. That was a pretty cool experience. While the rain was actually a bit warm, the wind cooled me down a lot, but a trio of boys in underpants got the tent fixed a little and then jumped in the river just next to our camp, (we were going to canoe, you know.)

Later that day we decided to get tipsy and did some silly like a balancing contest and invisible-gun duels. Well. Here are some pictures:

Just for your information, this is at Bjerringbro.

This tent didn't look especially big, so we used it for storage. Guess what? It didn't keep the rain out either.

Nooooooooooooooooo!

And then people went into tents for cover, drank wine of beer bottles and talked about the apocalypse.

Here's some more madness.

Yaaaaaah! Happy!

And this time it's Rasmus.

Second day, I couldn't find my camera due to leaving it in a different pocket of my bag so I didn't take a lot of pictures until later in the day. This was the day we sailed the most. Weather was really good but threatening. We had bought some extra raincoats for a dime just in case it would rain again, and as some dark clouds came over us, we donned them and prepared for the worst. Luckily, though, they drove past us and we had a whole day with no rain, (except for in the early morning,) and even the wind was on our side. The little there were.

When we went ashore, we camped at Langå camping and made some spaghetti with tomato sauce and sausages. Pretty decent for camping food.

Then we played some more cards. Actually we played "Gunslinger" during the whole trip.

Marshmallow frying.

And then there's Teis marshmallow eating technique. That was wicked.

Simon was worse, but I'm not going to post any videos of him on the blog this time.

This post is not much out of the ordinary at all now, is it?

On the third day, I finally managed to snap some pictures of us out in the water. During our last day everything was perfect except for the wind which was blowing the wrong direction. But it was cooling us down so I guess that's okay. People weren't too good at steering the canoes. My boat was the only one to not sail into reeds. After canoeing a few kilometers, we used the day for driving back home to spend some time at Teis house in Korsør.

Yo dawg.

 DSC07349

Eek! They be chasing us.

Beer cans where we held in for a lunch break. We didn't put them there! Must be the Germans who did it. We drank Tuborg, honest!

And then we arrived at our destination near Fladbro Camping & Hytteby.

 DSC07365

No shipwrecking or people falling overboard during the whole trip.

We had our cars parked there so that we could jump right in and drive back home instead of having to drag everything back to the place we started our trips.

And that's it. We drove home listening to the theme songs of Indiana Jones and A-Team but after I took this video my camera was out of battery.

And that's it.
